Kay was born and raised in Frankfurt. After studying New Zealand and working as a Post-Production PA on KING KONG at WETA DIGITAL, he enrolled at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He participated in the Hollywood Workshop at UCLA in Los Angeles and graduated with a COMMERCIAL DIRECTING diploma.

Since then he directed multiple national and international campaigns and spots for global brands, ad agencies and networks. His work won awards or has been shortlisted in Cannes, the New York Festivals, the Clio Awards, the German Advertising Film Award, ADC Germany & Switzerland, CCA Austria, the Gerety Awards and was featured in Lurzer’s Archive, Best Ads on TV, The Drum and Shots.

He was able to work with celebrities like James-Bond-Actor Roger Moore, Tennis-Champion Roger Federer, Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, Music-Act All-4-One and Bollywood-Superstar Ranveer Singh – among many others.

Kay loves movies and for him, directing commercials is the best job in the world! He lives in Berlin, where he is working hard to insert his humor, quirky visual style and his focus on interesting characters into his films.
